Sometimes the first step is simply having somebody listen and help you figure out where to start.
Some people don’t have a voice. 210Chismosa helps them be heard and connects them to people who can help.
You don’t have to be famous. You don’t have to have money. You don’t have to know the right people. And you don’t have to know where to start.
You just have to reach out.
210Chismosa believes that when one person in our community is hurting, we all have a responsibility to help. We may not be able to fix everything, but we can listen, make a call, find a resource, make a connection and show up.
Born and raised on the Southside of San Antonio, Cecilia Chávez built her massive digital platform from the ground up with nothing more than a phone and a desire to keep her community connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. What began as a simple Facebook group to share real-time updates and everyday conversations quickly exploded into an influential digital brand reaching over 500,000 followers across multiple platforms. While building a public persona naturally came with challenges and criticism, Chávez used those experiences to reinforce her purpose: giving everyday locals a place to be heard.
Today, as the powerhouse behind “210 La Chismosa,” she has completely flipped the script on neighborhood “chisme,” transforming her page from not only an entertainment hub but also into a vital community lifeline.
Guided by her belief that “being silent never fixes anything,” she leverages her massive reach to highlight urgent community issues, mobilize support for local causes like animal rescues, and spark organic conversations that lead to real solutions. Beyond community advocacy, Chávez works closely with San Antonio entrepreneurs, using her platform’s immense visibility to help small local businesses grow, gain exposure, and succeed.
